Inpatients needing Respiratory Therapy are provided physician and/or Protocol prescribed treatments to help the patient breathe easier. These include Oxygen, Ventilator care, BiPAP, CPAP, Aerosol therapy and CPT and Flutter therapy. Outpatient therapy procedures include: EEG testing and a 6 Minute Walk Test.

Pulmonary Function Testing can be done as an inpatient or an outpatient. Pulmonary Function testing includes the following tests: Spirometry with before and after Bronchodilator, DLCO, Plethysmography also Exercise Induced Asthma testing and Methocholine Challenge test. The department also works closely with Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

Our Respiratory Therapy department works with local home care companies to provide our patients with the medical equipment they need in their home. They help the patient get set up with Oxygen, BiPAP and CPAP therapy.

Our Respiratory Therapist also assists with a Tobacco Cessation program here at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
