  • Business Health and Wellness

    Business Health and Wellness provides customized health and safety services and education to meet the needs of area employers. Services include post-offer job physicals, DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol testing, respiratory testing and on-site nursing services. Laboratory tests and other health screenings are available upon request. Our professional staff is certified in ergonomic and functional capacity evaluations. Educational programs can be tailored to the unique needs of each employer. Our Rehabilitation staff will assist employers in returning injured employees to work.

  • Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

    Cardiac, Pulmonary and Vascular Rehab are offered at our facility. Some of the programs offered in this department are Stress Testing, Echocardiogram Testing, Holter Monitoring, Sleep Studies, 24 Hour Blood Pressure Monitoring, Events Monitoring and Home sleep testing. Emergency response systems are also available through the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department. These are Emergency response systems to have added safety in your own home.   • Emergency Services

    We offer 24 hour Emergency services. Our Nursing and Medical Staff are trained in Trauma and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.


  • Home Health/Hospice/Personal Cares

    St. Francis HHC/Hospice offers Medicare certified home care to qualified clients needing home health or hospice services. Types of services include part-time intermittent skilled nursing, bath aide, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Ages of clients served range from newborn to the geriatric client. Private Pay Personal Cares is available for skilled nursing and bath aide for clients who do not meet the qualifications for Medicare covered services.

    Infection Prevention




    As the Infection Preventionist, it is my job to make sure patients, employees, volunteers and visitors have an infection safe facility.   • Laboratory

    We have a fully automated laboratory providing a broad menu of laboratory testing for inpatient and ER patients at St. Francis Memorial Hospital as well as outpatients from Dinklage Medical Clinic and four satellite clinics. Patient samples from six area nursing homes are also collected and tested weekly.

    Microbiology testing is also available at our laboratory, providing organism identification and antibiotic sensitivity testing so physicians may accurately treat infections.

    The laboratory provides blood transfusion services for those patients needing a transfusion. The laboratory receives their blood supply from the American Red Cross in Omaha.

    Physicians Laboratory in Omaha provides pathology services and reference lab services for those tests not performed in our laboratory.




  • Occupational Therapy

    Occupational Therapists at FCS work in a variety of settings with people of all ages. OT works with wheelchair positioning, upper extremity range of motion, strength and endurance training, fine motor coordination and to teach patients to use adaptive equipment to increase independence with daily tasks. OT’s often work with children in the school system, focusing on upper extremity gross and fine motor coordination and to help children reach developmental milestones. Treatment within the Outpatient Clinic often includes shoulder, elbow and hands. OT’s focus is to enable patients to reach their highest functional potential. OT services at FCS are provided in the following settings: inpatient, outpatient, 7 nursing homes, 4 school districts and Home Health.




  • Oncology

    Our Oncology services are provided once a month by the Oncologist from Immanuel Hospital in Omaha on an outpatient basis. They perform Bone Marrow testing, Chemotherapy and lab work.




  • Patient Care Services

    Our Patient Care staff takes care of patients requiring medical, surgical, pediatric, ventilator, outpatient and swingbed or skilled care services.




  • Physical Therapy

    The Physical Therapy department offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services as well as Sports Medicine Rehabilitation. We service the seven area nursing homes.




  • Radiology

    The radiology department at St. Francis Memorial Hospital is a progressive imaging department. We are a fully accredited radiology department with state of the art equipment. Featuring MRI, CT, General Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Digital Mammography, 3D Mammography, Stereo-tactic Breast Biopsy, PET/CT, Fluoroscopy, Bone Mineral Density(DEXA) as well as standard x-rays. We are a fully staffed, highly educated and experienced department. Out staff is experienced and friendly. We are very “patient” oriented, focusing on your needs as a patient. We will try to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

    Imaging appointments are available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, making it possible to schedule appointments to accommodate most schedules. We are able to schedule your appointments through local doctors as well as specialists and doctors from other communities. This makes us a convenient choice for you as a patient.



  • Respiratory Therapy

    Our Respiratory Therapy Department provides services in the hospital setting as well as at home services. They provide inpatient therapy and ventilator care, Pulmonary Function Testing which includes: Simple Spirometry, before and after Bronchodilator, Complete PFT which include Plethysmography and DLCO, and EEG testing. The Respiratory Therapy Department also helps set up Home Equipment like Oxygen, Nebulizers, CPAP, BIPAP and Apnea monitors.



  • Speech Therapy

    Our Speech Therapy department works with patients of all ages, from children to the elderly. They do Modified Barium Swallow Studies and speech evaluations. They provide their services to Nursing Homes, Home Health and on an Inpatient and Outpatient basis.



  • Spiritual Care

    Spiritual care services are provided by professional chaplains and trained volunteers.  Chaplains have Clinical Pastoral Education Training. Our goal is to integrate spiritual care into the comprehensive care continuum offered at Franciscan Care Services.


    The Spiritual Care Department provides spiritual support and referral resources to our patients, families and staff.  We can provide support through:

    • Patient and family support during illness and recuperation
    • Support for employees/staff
    • Pastoral notification upon admission if requested
    • Spiritual support to all
    • Catholic Sacramental ministry
    • Prayer services in hospital chapel
    • End of life care and support
    • Grief counseling and support groups
    • Bi-annual memorial services for family members who have experienced the death of a loved one while a FCS patient or St. Joseph Retirement Community resident.  A series of grief support sessions follow each memorial service.
    • The staff chaplain may occasionally be called upon by the family of a patient or resident who does not have a formal church affiliation to perform a funeral or memorial service while in the care of FCS
    • Cemetery and burial rituals for families who have had a baby miscarried less than 20 weeks of gestation while the mother was under the care of St. Francis Memorial Hospital
    • Spiritual care support and presence to hospice patients and family members
    • Weekly Bible sharing opportunities to residents in the Memory Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community
    • Weekly Bible study opportunities for residents of St. Joseph’s Retirement Community


    The Chaplain will be available at the hospital, Monday through Friday.  Emergency and night hour services are determined by specific situations. On weekends, Holy Communion is available to all Catholic patients through volunteer Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

  • Surgery and Anesthesia

    With 1 general surgeon in house and 7 consulting specialty surgeons on staff, we are able to provide a wide variety of surgical services including General, Gynecology, Urology, Ear/Nose/Throat, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Our Family Physicians provide continuous Endoscopy service including Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, Feeding Tube insertion, Foreign Body retrieval, and Esophageal Dilatation. Our 24-Hour coverage Anesthesia Department provides all types of anesthesia including OB epidurals and pain clinics.
