Memory Care Area & Adult Day Center

St. Joseph's Memory Care Area & Adult Day Center is designed to care for adults with mild to moderate confusion or memory impairment. Our daily program serves St. Joseph's residents, as well as those who reside with their own families or caregivers.

Caring for a loved one with dementia or confusion is truly a labor of love which can consume your time, energy and emotions. St. Joseph's Adult Day Center can help you remain the primary caregiver by allowing you to continue to work outside the home, go shopping, enjoy social engagements, or just take a much needed break.

Specialized Setting

Your loved one will feel at home in St. Joseph's lovely Memory Care Area & Adult Care Center where they will have access to:

  • A comfortable Activity Lounge with gas fireplace and television
  • A sunny kitchen area
  • A beautiful secured Outdoor Courtyard
  • Their own Apartment in the same wing as the Adult Day Center (if a resident of St. Joseph's Retirement Community)

St. Joseph's Adult Day Center is safeguarded by a security system which prevents unattended wandering. Large windows, attractive decorations and comfortable furnishings combine to form a home-like environment. In addition, our beautiful outdoor courtyard provides a secure setting in which to walk and enjoy nature. Also, participants who reside at St. Joseph's have access to their own private apartment any time they wish.

Quality Staff & Program

St. Joseph's caregivers are specifically trained to meet the needs of those with memory impairment and confusion. They provide a structured program designed to meet the individual needs of our participants. Past enjoyments and present limitations are recognized and used to create individual care plans.

Our activities include reminiscing, exercise, games, baking, arts and crafts, movies, outings and many more engaging pastimes. Participants are also encouraged to take part in "activities" such as dishwashing, setting the table for meals and folding clothes. These "activities" promote feelings of productivity and recall past usefulness and independence.

Our small group setting fosters the feeling of belonging to a family. Many of our participants form fast friendships with their peers while here, and they gain acceptance in a loving environment.

Enrollment

St. Joseph's Memory Care Area & Adult Day Center is open to the public seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Your loved one can participate in St. Joseph's Memory Care Area & Adult Day Center as often as he or she likes. Participants generally stay for six hours or more.
